How to make a simple pattern - Como fazer um modelo simples

Até um modelo simples demora

bastantes dias até estar terminado, desde o dia

em que compro o tecido e decido o modelo,

até ao dia em que finalmente o

consigo vestir.

- DIA 1 -

Cortei os moldes em papel vegetal e

coloquei-os sobre o tecido, para ver como cabem.

Tive sorte em encontrar um pedaço de tecido

tão parecido com o da revista!

 Tendo em conta os desenhos do

tecido, neste ponto é muito importante respeitar

a orientação dos moldes sobre o tecido.

Alfinetei os moldes ao tecido e dobrei

tudo, à espera da próxima oportunidade

para continuar....

- DIA 2 -

Comecei por verificar que tinha tecido suficiente para

as costuras, porque o tecido tinha

20 cm a menos que o comprimento

recomendado na revista.

Verificações feitas,neste dia, cortei o tecido.

- Dia 3 -

Cortei a entretela para aplicar nas

partes indicadas no modelo, para

reforçar a área à volta do pescoço

e a parte direita, da frente.

Este é um passo que demora

algum tempo, porque todos

os pequenos pedaços têm de

ser passados a ferro sobre o tecido.

- Dia 4 -

Tendo em conta o tipo de tecido,

a única forma de marcar as linhas

de costura foi alinhavar em volta

dos moldes, com linha dupla

("empastar").

- Dia 5, dia 6, dia 7 -

Três dias para ter todas as peças cosidas!

Este modelo foi muito simples de coser.

Apenas tive

algumas dificuldades na gola...

- Dia 8 -

Finalmente, os botões e as respetivas casas!

Os quatro botões foram mais caros que

o total do tecido, mas bem,

são uma parte importante dos acabamentos.

Even a simple model takes me

several days to be completed, from the

day that I buy the fabric and choose the model,

until the day that I'm finally able to dress it.

- DAY 1 -

I cutted the pattern pieces into transparent paper

and tried them over the fabric. I had luck to find

a little piece of fabric so similar to the one in

the magazine!

Given the design of the fabric, at this step

it's very important to respect the

orientation of the pattern pieces.

I pinned all the pieces to the fabric, and folded

everything, waiting for the next opportunity to continue.

- DAY 2 -

I started to check if I had the fabric to do

the seams allowances, because the lenght

of the fabric was 20 cm less that the lenght

recommended by the magazine.

Done with the checking,
I cut the fabric in this day.

- Day 3 -

I cut the interface to apply in the indicated parts

by the pattern, in order to reinforce

the area around the neck and the right front.

This step takes some time because

all the little interface pieces have to be iron

on the fabric.

- Day 4 -

Given the type of the fabric, the only way to

mark the sewing lines was using the technique

of tacking a double white line all over

the patterns.

- Day 5, day 6, day 7 -

Three days to have everything sewed!

This was a very easy model to join

the pieces together. Nevertheless I followed

all the instructions carefully, having

some difficulties in the collar...

- Day 8 -

Finnaly, the buttons and buttonholes!

The four buttons were more expensive

than the whole fabric, but well, it's

an important finish point.
